Great Musicians Give Master Classes

Location C-115
Session 12 weeks 30-Jan

If you think you know your favorite pieces of classical music pretty well, here is a course that will make you think all over again. Youtube has a fantastic collection of master-class videos in which some of the worlds most celebrated musicians share their secrets with aspiring students. The professors include famous pianists, violinists, singers and conductors; the students are already excellent but understandably nervous; and the classes are rich in insight, fun, tension, wonderful music making and occasional heartbreak.

Coordinator: John Temple

John is a semi-retired business writer, lifelong listener, former classical concert reviewer for the Boston Globe and Providence Journal, Sturgis Library trustee, and occasional presenter on historical topics. Last fall he led a 12-week A.L.L. course on Mozart's piano concertos.
