This lively course is based on The Economist, a weekly publication acclaimed for its coverage and analysis of world events, politics, business, technology, the arts and other issues of current interest. Each week, we will discuss articles from the previous week’s edition. After the first session, volunteers will choose articles and lead the discussion for subsequent weeks. Access to The Economist is recommended for this course. Short and long-term subscriptions are available in print and/or digital format directly from www.economist.com. We will hold a practice session for those interested in using this method prior to the start of class to demonstrate how to bring articles up via the Gale research database. The Economist articles for the first class will be sent by the coordinator during the prior week.
